Balawise provides informational estimates based on published South African rates, legislation and the details you enter. It is not a substitute for professional financial, tax, legal or insurance advice, and Balawise is not an authorised financial services provider, registered tax practitioner or legal practitioner.
Estimates, not guarantees
We work hard to keep every rate current and every formula correct, and we show the source and effective date of important figures. Even so, rates change, legislation is amended, and your personal circumstances may mean different rules apply. Results are therefore estimates. Before making a decision, confirm the figures with the relevant authority (for example SARS), your bank, insurer, employer or a qualified professional.
Legal calculators
Balawise provides general information and indicative calculations based on available South African legislation and publicly available information. Results are estimates and do not constitute legal advice. Individual circumstances may affect the outcome. Consult a qualified legal practitioner for advice on your specific situation.
What our labels mean
- Official — follows a published rate, table or statutory rule (for example the SARS tax tables).
- Estimate — a reasonable estimate; actual amounts charged by banks, attorneys or suppliers may differ.
- Your assumption — depends on a value you chose, such as investment growth or inflation.
- Indicative — a scenario or comparison, not a prediction of an outcome.
